Welcome to Hyde Park, MA - A Designated Neighborhood of Boston, MA - Real Estate and More

Welcome to Hyde Park, MA – Real Estate and More

Located in Norfolk County, Hyde Park is one of 23 designated neighborhoods in Boston, MA.

Hyde Park is Boston’s southernmost neighborhood. The neighborhood was added into the Boston landscape in 1912, after being parts of Milton and Dedham. Hyde Park is home to a diverse range of people, housing types and social groups. It is an urban location with suburban features. The Neponset River runs through its center.

Two squares make up the center of Hyde Park: Logan and Cleary. You’ll find local “Hyde Parkers” at the many new and established meeting places. See a show at Riverside Theater Works or bowl a string or two at the popular neighborhood spot, Twentieth Century Bowling Alley. Stop by the mural in the park on River Street, which shows a cast of community members along with the neighborhood’s most famous resident – former Mayor Thomas M. Menino – leading the Hyde Park Parade.

Places to go:

  • Riverside Theater Works – A rare community theater with a proscenium stage – and the only live theater venue in Hyde Park – Riverside is located in the historic French’s Opera House in Logan Square. Their 14,000 square foot facility features a 156-seat opera house, a spacious dance studio and rehearsal space, a scene shop, a lounge, and several meeting and rehearsal rooms.
  • Twentieth Century Bowling Alley and Ron’s Gourmet Ice Cream – Family owned business that is smoke-free and kid-friendly. We offer world famous, all natural gourmet ice cream and a fun bowling alley. Our bowling alley offers bumper bowling and state-of-the-art computer scoring.
  • George Wright Golf Course – George Wright Golf Course is a public golf course that was opened in 1938 after receiving President Roosevelt’s Workers Progress Administration (WPA) funding to complete the construction. In recent years, George Wright has again gained recognition by being chosen as Golf Digest’s Best Municipal Course in Massachusetts and the 14th Best Municipal Golf Course in The U.S. by Golfweek in 2009.
  • Rock Spot Climbing – Known for being one of the best rock climbing spots in Boston, Rock Spot Climbing has two Boston locations, one in Hyde Park and the other in South Boston. They welcome climbers of all ages and all abilities to their indoor climbing facilities. Walk-ins are always welcome and their professional staff are trained to get you climbing on their walls quickly.

Delicious places to eat:

  • Fairmount Grill – Owned by Chef Chris Rassias, they are a full service neighborhood restaurant with a casual atmosphere. Join them for a drink at their friendly bar or for dinner in one of their two dining rooms.
  • ZAZ Restaurant – ZAZ Restaurant offers the finest blend of fusion and contemporary cuisine in Boston. The ZAZ menu combines many culinary traditions yet they do not categorize themselves to one cuisine style. It’s contemporary mixed with innovation to bring you great taste.
  • Antonio’s Bacaro – Bacaro, by definition, is a unique place with its own atmosphere, small, warm, cheerful and welcoming. Casual-classy Italian is on the menu with a wide range of recipes, a lively bar and a unique wine list.
  • Rincon Caribeno – Rincon is a comfortable restaurant that serves classic Dominican dishes such as gumbo and mofongo. It also offers delicious cocktails.
